A Brief History of Bella’s Country Place as a Bed and Breakfast

The history of Bella’s Country Place is intertwined with the history of Narrogin and the way of life in the Wheatbelt. Narrogin first became a town and community gathering place when the Great Southern Railway arrived, demanding a reliable watering place for locals. Here are a few interesting titbits of our history:

  • The building dates to the 1950s.

    It was first used to house students attending Narrogin Senior High School who came from the far-flung farms in the area. The last student stay took place in 1979.

  • The first residents were six young ladies.

    We have had the honour of welcoming two of those first residents as our guests.

  • We have operated Bella’s Country Place since 2014,

    Named by our children in honour of their remarkable grandmother Bella.
